Intense Pulsed Light selectively heats and damages melanin and hemoglobin, which the body then naturally clears.
Filtered broadband light targets melanin and hemoglobin to reduce pigment and redness without fractional laser resurfacing.
IPL utilizes a broad spectrum of non-coherent light (typically 500-1200nm). Cut-off filters are used to select a range of wavelengths that are preferentially absorbed by specific chromophores, primarily melanin and hemoglobin. This absorption converts light energy into heat, inducing selective photothermolysis, which fragments the pigment and coagulates small vessels.
