- Don't pick, peel or scratch

- Pat dry; don't rub
- Avoid hard exercise, heat and heavy sweating for 1–3 days
- No swimming or baths for 1–3 days
- No retinoids, acids or scrubs for 1 week
- Immediately after treatment, skin will be red and warm for up to 24 hours. Over the next 2-6 days, the skin will feel dry and develop a rough, sandpaper-like texture before naturally flaking off to reveal smoother, brighter skin underneath. It is crucial not to pick or scrub the skin during this time. Results start to show in about 1 week, after the skin flakes off.

Pregnancy and nursing.
Use of photosensitizing medications.
Impaired immune system due to diseases like HIV/AIDS or use of immunosuppressive medications.
History of keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing.
Current or history of skin cancer in the treatment area.

Possible side effects

Common

Redness and a sensation of warmth, similar to a sunburn, for the first 24 hours.
Mild swelling, especially in the first 24-48 hours.
A 'sandpaper' or rough texture to the skin that appears between days 2-6 as the treated tissue begins to shed.
Dryness, flaking, or peeling.
A temporary bronzing or freckled appearance as pigment is brought to the surface.

Less common

Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), particularly in darker skin types if not performed correctly.
Acne flare-ups.
