- No aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil or vitamin E for 2 weeks, if your doctor agrees
- Use the special mouth rinse (if the cut is inside your mouth)
- Take your medicines as prescribed
- Expect swelling and discomfort for the first week, managed with medication and cold compresses. A soft diet is often recommended. Most bruising and swelling improve within two weeks, allowing a return to light activities. Final results emerge over 3 to 6 months as tissues fully settle.

How it works, and common myths

Surgical mentoplasty precisely modifies chin bone structure, either with an implant or osteotomy, to enhance facial balance.

A little more technical

A biocompatible implant is surgically placed over the chin bone to augment its size and shape, improving facial harmony.

A biocompatible alloplastic implant is placed in a subperiosteal or supraperiosteal pocket over the mental protuberance to increase the anterior and/or vertical projection of the chin, thereby improving facial harmony.

Material: Medical-Grade Silastic; A firm, flexible, and biocompatible silicone implant molded to hug the exact curvature of the jawbone.
Technique: Subperiosteal Pocket; The implant is inserted through a tiny incision under the chin and secured tightly against the bone for a permanent, chiseled projection.
